To start with, we went through my questions:
- Questions regarding a few letters, because I was not sure about their writing (different possibilities mentioned in the sheets)
- Questions in the book, such as p.18 (Unit 2): kasha is often written below the shade, rather than below the letter itself
- the meaning of hamza and the rules
- two variations to write 'al', but one preference!
Secondly, correction of my writing and checked, which letters were not well written. Following this, we had a look on my two words, which were for this week 'birthday' and 'Christmas'. After that, I wrote the dictation (vocabulary until p. 24) and the score was 5 out of 10 points.
Thirdly, we corrected my exercises (5,6,7) of Unit 2 and started and finished Unit 3 on that day. Questions regarding Unit 3 were the rules about 'alif' (p.31) and how 'my' will be applied to Arabic words, meaning that at the end of a word the letter ya is added. (Example: binti - my girl)
My homework for the 15th November will be:
1. 2 words
2. vocabulary until p.36 for the dictation
3. Ex. 2,3,4,5,6,7,8 of Unit 3 (p. 28-35)
4. 5 sentences about my family
