Homework revision:

• 7 sentences:
o remark: I walk on the street, is in Arabic I walk IN the street, so ‘fii’ is used.
o Al-sadika – define whose friend! Important for the context of the sentence
o Sharika ‘fii’ al-shaqqa, don’t forget the fii

• New rules:
o Revision, but:
♣ Li – used for relation
♣ Indi – used when you own something

o The use of laysa
♣ Ahmed is not tall: Ahmed laysa tawil – here ‘laysa’ is used because of the adjective ‘tawil’, which means that ‘laysa’ is only used with adjectives NOT with verbs.
♣ Additionally, ‘laysa’ is only used for present tense, when it comes to the past: he was not tall, we take the verb rule: the negative form of verbs:
1. past tense: ma
2. present tense: al

so if we want to say: he was tall, we use the past tense rule for verbs:
‘ma’

o The use of numbers
- 3 cases with numbers:
1: male & female:
m – m ; f – f

2: dual
only when you really want to make something clear that you have/ use two)

3-10:
m (noun) – f (number) = n+ ta marbuta (it added to the number itself)
f (noun) – m

= comment: if the noun is masculine, then the number is added with ta marbuta

Homework:
1. Form some sentences where I use ‘laysa’ or ‘al’ (negative form)
2. preparation for the use of verbs: conjugation
- chose some out of the list, verbs I mostly would use in daily life
3. 7 sentences: English version online !!
4. 2 words
5. exercises until unit 10
6. dictations until unit 9
